Designing the new app of one of Australia’s leading online investing platform – nabtrade from National Australia Bank

SUMMARY
The design and development of its first native mobile app was a massive milestone for nabtrade – fully designed and developed in house, it would address a major business and customer pain point; the lack of a proper mobile experience for a product with over 200,000 customers.
Having joined NAB at the beginning of the project, I was fortunate enough to be the lead designer across the entire span of the project, directly involved in the end-to-end process – including go-live, new version releases (feedback + enhancements) and future state backlog items.

Facilitating the design of a world leading occupational health initiative – Vitaport, an employee wellbeing platform.

SUMMARY
The Occupational Health space doesn’t have a one shop digital experience, rather it’s a convoluted space with too many tools in different systems. Aspen wanted to solve this problem with a product to innovate how organisations manage and enhance their employees' wellbeing.
I joined the team to help fleshing out the experience and lead the UI design component from the ground up. I successfully delivered the complete MVP agreed with the client and ensured the experience was in line with the value proposition derived from the venture research sprint done previously.
ROLE / HIGHLIGHTS
Senior Designer
Responsive web app UX/UI

Large customer base

Onboarding experience – a UX research and design piece to uncover best in class, test and validate nabtrade’s ideal onboarding experience.

SUMMARY
I was tasked with researching a best in class, mobile first onboarding experience for new and existing NAB customers.
With the goal of informing the business what an ideal experience was like and validate it with customers, I also needed to help them identify what technology was involved in such experience. At the time, nabtrade was seriously lacking a mobile friendly, intuitive and easy to use onboarding application.
I successfully delivered the research findings, UX design and prototype for the two customer groups with recorded usability testing and report of insights and recommendations, including competitor research, experience design, UI interactive prototype and technology considerations.
ROLE / HIGHLIGHTS

Tested & validated with customers

Showcased at business wide townhall

Designing an all-new feature for nabtrade, Multi-Currency Facility (MCF), to allow users to hold and trade with foreign currencies.

SUMMARY
I was assigned the MCF project to design a new feature and validate the experience within the nabtrade product (website and mobile app).
A known customers pain-point, trading internationally was only possible in AUD, creating friction to customers that wanted to invest more heavily in international markets. Being able to buy and hold foreign currencies to trade would offer advantages to them, specially in the long run.
One of the biggest challenges I had to solve was to make sure the existing experience wouldn't be impacted and confuse other customer that wouldn't use this feature. Adapting the new experience needed to be seamless and intuitive, in a simple but elegant way. I achieved that by testing with real customers and reporting back to the business, which was pleased and signed off the experience.
